焦糖烤鸡肉 Ayam Bakar Caramel $6 👍👍😋😋
Highlights: Halal
Budget: $10/person
Meal prices: $4.50 - $6
Cuisine: Indonesian
Terms: Cash
Parkings: Free
Food Thoughts: A chicken meal is $5-$6, and the restaurant even throws in a free bowl of braised chicken feet and a bowl of soup. The restaurant mainly caters for the kampong residents and nearby Uitm students.
For that price, the food is not bad at all. My lunch of $6 was the Ayam Bakar Caramel (Caramel Roasted Chicken) which comes with a nice sweet and sour black vinigerish sauce!
The Pecel daging (beef) was tasty but the meat was tough to bite! Besides beef and chicken, the restaurant also serves several noodles choices (Indonesian style like Bakso).
Location of the restaurant is inside Kampong Jawa at Seksyen 7 Shah Alam. Parking is free around the Kampong (there is a designated empty lot for parking just a few steps from the restaurant). Don't complain about the heat, there are no air conditioned here.
Kampong Jawa, with its origin almost 160 years ago as a small fruit plantations with its residents mostly rubber tappers is uniquely divided into an area belonging to Klang and another to Petaling therefore managed by 2 Municiples ie: MPK (Klang) and MBSA (Shah Alam) and interestingly Kampong Jawa also managed by 2 Ketua Kampong. Unlike other areas of Shah Alam, it is still a very traditional "village-like" housing area and definitely a place to hunt for Indonesian Cuisines!
Review: 6 / 10 👍👍😋😋
Operating Hours: 24 hours
