Parking: MBPJThoughts: It is the 7th visit to Milligram, with the "Coffee Card", it is rm$2 off for any coffee; and another rm$3 off for Lunch set orders with a Coffee. Oh! the 印度香料茶拿铁 Chai Latte was just fantastic and wished I could have it after the lunch meal instead.
"Chai" is the word for tea in Hindi and most other Indian languages, and may have the root from Mandarin word of "茶 Chá". The "sweetened spiced milk tea" often referred as "Masala Chai Tea" or "Dirty Chai Tea", which has no resemblance to the Chinese Tea! "Masala Chai Tea" is for a lot of people who don't drink coffee, but also coffee drinkers looking for an alternative, and something very popular in Australia and even in some Middle East countries. But "Chai" does originates in India, the folklore surrounding Chai dates back to an ancient royal court of either India or Siam. It was said that the reigning king then, created the recipe as a healing 印度"阿育吠陀"草藥飲料 Ayurvedic beverage. Throughout the earlier years, Chai was prepared via a diverse range of methods and contained an equally 一系列的香料 diverse array of spices. However the Tea spice mix lacked appeal due to the high cost of tea and wasn’t popular until the 1900s when a hardcore campaign by the 印度茶葉公司 India Tea Company promoted the provision of ‘Tea Breaks’ for workers in an attempt to increase tea sales. This resulted in both an increase in overall tea sales but also an increase in the addition of spices to the mix by Chai vendors.
Back to the lunch today at Milligram, the set lunch comes with a meal plus hot/cold tea of day or topped with with a Coffee with rm$3 off the total resit, the "春季雜蔬意大利面 Spring Pasta (Vegetables)" of vegetarian spaghettis, comes with assorted vegetables of 西葫蘆 Zucchini, 蘑菇 Mushroom, 櫻桃番茄 Cherry Tomato, and 羅勒 Basil; with a piece of 檸檬 lemon; loved the vegetarian pasta!
The 7th visit to Milligram, great place to get some work done with free wifi, excellent connection and speed, plus free drinking water. The "LONG" table is certainly the best spot in the Cafe! So, far the Coffee has been great and with the "COFFE Card", regulars get a little bit of discount for the Coffee. The Café offers Pasta, Rice dishes, Sandwiches, Cakes, Croissants and Waffles; and so far both the Coffee and meals sampled were good. The Cozy little hidden Café tucked away in the shop lots of Taman Mayang, maybe a little busy during lunch hours but definitely worth visiting for its Coffee, Food, and getting some work done with your digital devices.
