Thoughts: Story Book Café began operation sometime in January 2023. The new Café offers Western, Eastern, and Fusion dishes and the menu includes Toast, Sandwiches, Pasta, Noodles and Rice dishes. A cup of 拿鐵咖啡 Latte here is at rm$7, and my opinion as goods if not better than those of Starbucks and Coffee Bean!

Lunch today is a rm$14 "沙茶意麵 ShaCha Pasta", and definitely a fusion dish. "沙茶麵 ShaCha Noodle" also known as 沙爹麵 Satay noodles, is a noodle dish popular in 福建省南部 Southern Fujian province. So, the main ingredient of the 沙爹麵 Satay noodles is really the 沙爹醬 Satay sauce! BUT 沙爹 Satay (a skewer dish) is originally from Malaysia or Indonesia. Tea drinking is popular in the 閩南地區 Minnan region (another expression of southern Fujian province), so the Malay word for 沙爹 Sate is translated into Minnan's word for 沙爹麵 Sa-Te which is called 沙茶 Sha-Cha in mandarin. Another saying about the origin of ShaCha noodle is that "Tay" in satay has a similar pronunciation to the local Hokkien word for 茶 Tea-"Cha" so people call this food which is made from Satay Sauce, ShaCha noodle! AND to use Satay Sauce in a Pasta dish is kind of Fusion of Malay + Italian! AND it is ALL Vegetarian !!!
