Some argue pineapple and meat just can’t be mixed, just like the Hawaiian Pizza maybe not be the cup of tea for Pizza lovers! But McDonald's burger with a Pineapple isn't a new thing, back in 2017, the "本宮鳳堡 Empress' Pineapple Burger", as it has been dubbed by McDonald’s China, is a chicken breast burger topped with a sweet and sour barbecue sauce, mayonnaise, and of course, a large ring of pineapple.
And in June of 2016, McDonald’s brought a pineapple-focused item to its Asian market location which was first introduced in Japan, called a 夏天菠蘿奶昔 Summer Pineapple Shake, McDonald’s introduced a new pineapple shake that uses 100 percent 沖繩產菠蘿 Okinawan-grown pineapples. McDonald’s Japan has 3 Hawaiian style burgers available at select restaurants. The three options include a Cheese Loco Moco Burger, a Garlic Shrimp Burger, and a Hawaiian BBQ Pork Burger. And another one called the Loco Burger on a Muffin. Although none of the burgers seem to have a pineapple on them but ALLof them look and soud delicious, hope McD Malaysia can bring these Hawaiian burger variance to the country.
