24.06.2017 Breakfast (六月初一吃素)
@ 友心素食 You Xin Vegetarian USJ 1
21, Jalan USJ 1/4B, Taman Subang Mewah, 47620 Subang Jaya
素米粉面 Vegetarian MeeHoon & Mee $6
竹蔗菊花 Bamboo Cane Chrysanthemum $1.50
Thoughts: Found a little shop for vegetarian at USJ 1 opposite 子文 Primary School. Serves the usual mee, meehoon, fried koay toew, and a selection of chinese vegetarian dishes. It is cheaper than the stall at USJ 10 but parking here is easier and this shop opens from 7am - 5pm everyday (except public holidays).
On 初一&十五, you can get a free bowl of 糖水 (other days are $2.50 per bowl); it seems that some "generous" likely rich people wants to 结缘 and so they donate this item every 初一&十五. I guess they think that by doing that they will get "good karma", but personally I think it is the opposite because I see many customers calling for bowls of free 糖水 likely due to their greed, not because they cannot pay for it but because it is free and their greed brought them here to eat. In addition, 初一 is suppose to be a day of repent and remorse of ones wrong doings for the past 15 days; but the noise they made while having their meal is worst than a wet market. At the end, this "generous" person has likely collected more "bad karma" on every 初一&十五 then ever as he/she has provoked the greed in others for a free meal; but this is just my opinion.
I would certainly come here to try the 糖水 on non 初一&十五 when it is not free. The dessert choices include lemon grass tea (香茅茶), wheat porridge (麦粥), red beans (红豆), green beans (绿豆), and pumpkin sago (南瓜西米露), I think normal days are $2.50 per bowl. I will pay for it as I refuse to 结缘.
