Thoughts: Dine-ins are now allowed for individuals who have completed their vaccination in states currently under Phase 1 of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) (which includes Petaling Jaya and Subang Jaya area), this has taken effect from Aug 20 (last week Friday which was the 98th days since MCO3.0 lock-down in May, 3 months ago). Then again, not that many restaurants yet to open for Dine-in as most just continue with the take-away practice thus far. Restaurant operators in states under Phase 1 of the national recovery plan have expressed hesitancy in reopening for dine-ins, citing the lack of clear SOPs and high number of new Covid-19 cases daily.

On August 20th, the new Covid cases were above 23,000 for that day alone and 233 daily new deaths! This Covid case numbers have been consistently high around or above 20,000 daily cases despite almost 40% of the 31.3 million population are already inoculated with 2 vaccine doses as at August 20th.
Today at Damen, Hair saloons (only for hair cut service), Car Wash and Jewelry shops in the mall can be seen open for customer walk-in with a 2-dose vaccination proof via the mySejahtera App.
However, USJ1's Damen was absolutely quiet on a Monday noon time with the main tenant "Parkson" still closed, that includes many hawker stalls in the cafeteria remain closed for business. However, seen open today are a few restaurants including Nam Heong and "Coffee & Toast", KFC, Pizza Hut (all only for take-away), and a few others plus Jaya Grocer in the Lower Ground floor.
Nam Heong open for take-aways only with a Buy 2-Free 1 offer for Take-away deal at the moment. The "招牌燒雞飯 Signature Roasted Chicken Rice" cost rm$16.30 (expensive chicken rice) for walk-in take-away (rm$14.90 + 6% SST + rm$0.50 Packaging) which is still cheaper compared to via GrabFood which is rm$20.64! Despite the price, it's a satisfying meal with tender roasted chicken, the box comes with 切絲黃瓜 thinly julienned cucumber and 切絲胡蘿蔔 carrots plus some 芫荽 Coriander. Exactly (almost) the same lunch box can be found in any kopitiam for possibly half-the-price for around rm$6.50 to rm$8.
The rm$1.90 Add-on 怡保白咖啡 Ipoh White Coffee Gao was however, bold and strong!
