Thoughts: Recently, there have been a slowly mushrooming of a new kind of Chinese "fast food" restaurant with recently served dishes and not the typical "華人雜飯 Chinese Zhap Fan" which may not be too hygienic BUT dishes which comes in a sealed small bowl called "小碗菜 Xiao Wan Cai". And there are at least 4 such restaurants in Klang Valley:

"小碗菜 Xiao Wan Cai" is a small dish, and somewhat popular in China where the Chinese offers it like a type of "小份的菜品 Chinese style Fast Food choice" for its fast speed as the dishes are self-service, in a variety which comes in small bowls and at affordable prices. This type of 中式快餐 Chinese fast food style restaurants has become an industry that has maintained a double-digit growth rate for ten consecutive years. The history of "小碗菜 Xiao Wan Cai or Mini Bowls" probably has some relations to the branch of 湘菜 Hunan cuisine called 瀏陽蒸菜 Liuyang Steamed Vegetables. Since its establishment, it has been steamed in the form of 小碗或 small bowls or 小瓦缽 small earthen bowls placed in a 蒸飯的木甑裡 wooden steamer for steaming rice. In the beginning, 瀏陽人 people from Liuyang migrated to other parts of China to open their shops, so initially they used 蒸籠 steamers inherited the 家鄉蒸法 hometown steaming method. As 瀏陽蒸菜 Liuyang Steamed Vegetables has taken over most of the 快餐市場 fast food market, many people copied the 瀏陽蒸菜 Liuyang steamed dishes, but found that no 瀏陽人 Liuyang people steamed as deliciously. So they slowly changed the form, and they 先炒好再分到小碗 fried it first and divided it into small bowls and put it in a 白鐵皮保溫 white iron warming cabinet to keep warm, making the guests mistakenly think it was steamed. And today steamed, stir-fried, or even fried items are offered in such fast food Mini Bowls restaurants but usually just the dishes are mostly 先炒再分小碗保溫 fried first and then divided into small bowls to keep warm. In fact, it is 炒菜快餐以小碗形式出品 stir-fried fast food produced in small bowls.
USJ10's "冰師傅 小碗菜 • 中式快餐 Bing Shifu Mini Bowl" opened recently, a corner shop lot just behind USJ10 Mc Donald's. The restaurant offers 川湘粤菜 Sichuan Hunan Cantonese Cuisines in small bowls ranging from rm$3 to rm$12 per bowl. For a 1 vegetable and 1 meat dishes plus a white rice will set you back maybe rm$18 to rm$20+ which is twice the budget of the typical Malaysian style "華人雜飯 Chinese Zhap Fan"!
