Food Thoughts: The restaurant is owned and run by Andy and his wife but I am not sure why it's called Restaurant Simon's. Someone told me Andy and his wife are from Penang and his shop is offering Penang style homecooked meals (perhaps Baba Nyonya style). Few years back, there used to be a play area for kids (including Andy's own kids) but I guess now they have growned, I did not notice anymore play areas for children.
Restaurant Simon's offers a variety of menu items and some of their best are Asam Fish, Ginger spring onion Beef, Curry Fish Head, as well as Sotong Goreng. All cooked items are in a photo album to choose from.
My dinner today was the Claypot Vegetables Curry which comes with 长豆 long beans, 豆腐泡 tofu pok, 包菜叶 cabbage leaves, 矮瓜 egg plant, and 羊角豆 Okra and thick coconut flavored curry with lots of curry leaves. The curry is both sweet and spicy and will leave you wanting for more of the curry and rice to go with it. Another dish ordered was a simple 菜薄蛋 Choy Poh (preserved cabbage) Omelette. Overall, a good meal as Restaurant Simon's (or Andy's restaurant) does offer nice choices of homecooked meals. For me, it's an all-vegetarian day which started inside a mosque for roti kosong, then rojak biasa on a roadside food truck, and lastly a vegetarian meal at Simon's, I would say my vegetarian meals ended well on 十一月初十五, the 1st day of 2018.
