印度煎饼 Roti Canai $1
Review: Parked the car at KL's ICC Pudu's indoor car park and realized it is also closed on Mondays. Settled on the mamak on Lorong Brunei for a piece of Roti Canai. It is Roti Canai Dhal Banjir meaning flooding the indian bread with Dhal instead of the Dhal on a separate plate. Probably the cheapest at $1, most places now selling $1.50. But Roti Canai 印度煎饼 (Indian Pancake) is apparently something very Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Brunei. In Southern Malaysia (Johor) and Singapore it is often referred as "Rota Prata", while in Thailand is called "Ro Tee", typically sold by Muslims. But in Malaysia, it is often by Indians, Mamak, or Malays. Despite its Indian-influenced origin, it was said that it is easier to find roti canai in Malaysia rather than in India.
