Thoughts: This is the smallest (cheapest) Wacom tablet, but I have already had the "Wacom Intuos Art Medium 10.75 x 8.5" x 0.25" (CTH-690/K0-CX)" for 4 year plus now, that tablet is still working fine and definitely was and still is a good tool for writing on One-note and so far only changed the nibs once. The Wacom Intuos Art Medium was rm$900+ from Low Yat Plaza more than 4 years ago, still think it was quite expensive compared to other China made tablets but of course the Wacom is definitely a Quality product after having used the Intuous Medium for 4 years!
Today's purchase from Shopee is the Cheapest Wacom table, at rm$195 - the "One by Wacom (small) or 和冠入門繪畫數位板". The WACOM is a Japanese brand (株式会社ワコム). however is "Made in China". 株式会社ワコム, Kabushiki gaisha Wakomu) is a Japanese company headquartered in 加須 Kazo, 埼玉 Saitama, 日本 Japan, that specializes in graphics tablets and related products. The company was founded in 1983 but with subsidiaries and offices in over 150 countries.
Coming back to the "One by Wacom" tablet, the "SMALL" variant is only 8.3" x 5.7" x 0.3" which is about 2.5" smaller in length and width compared to my other Intuos Wacom. This small tablet has an active area of 6.0 x 3.7", a relatively smaller area compared to the Wacom Intuos Art Medium! The BOX comes with a pressure sensitive and battery free pen, I think extra 3 nibs (together with a nib removal tool), a cable that connects to the PC/notebook (maybe 1 or 1.5m in length), and of course the tablet itself.
The smaller size of the "One by Wacom" means it is more portable compared to the "Intuos Art Medium", the Pen is lighter (and I'd say comfortable) and the tablet writing surface is "rougher" than the Intous. The tablet is "Plug-and-Play" but the Wacom site provides a Driver if you need extra configuration like changing the use of the 2 buttons on the Pen. Be mindful that the One by Wacom does not have any short cut buttons on the tablet surface (as there are 4 buttons on the Intuos Art Medium)! And perhaps this little table is best to use it with a notebook because the Active Area on the table is just about 6" x 3.7" which means for the 24" or 27" monitor which is at least 4 times longer in length compared to the Active area of the tiny tablet. As I am using it on the 24" Huawei Monitor, it takes a little bit time of getting used to. The tablet is probably just ok as a beginner's tool for Art but maybe more suitable for activates like note taking, online teaching (for whiteboarding), signature, or annotations of PDFs.
