Thoughts: Nasi Mmanggey is a Kelantanese dish or perhaps also known as "Nasi kukus ayam berempah". It does strike similar resemblance to the Nasi Kak Wok which I had twice before. Both comes with simple ingredients with the Nasi Kukus. I'd guess the main difference could be the fried chicken; It is 薑黃炸鸡 Ayam Goreng Kunyit that goes with Nasi Kak Wok but 香料炸鸡 Ayam Goreng Berempah that goes with Mmanggey; I could be wrong!
Interesting how such simple dishes of both Nasi Kak Wok or Nasi Mmanggey can excite the taste buds so much. USJ1 Warung Cikgu's Nasi Mmanggey comes with Nasi Kukus (steaming hot rice), the flavors of Gulai all over it plus that extra spicy Sambal (luckily it was on the side and not all over the rice), the main item was the 香料炸鸡 fried chicken berempah, some pieces were even quite tender.
It's self service here, queue up to get your Nasi Mmanggey which comes in a packet, go to the counter to order beverages and pay for the items, then find a seat to savor the Nasi Mmanggey with a cool beverage.
There are 3 popular beverages here, the Oreo ABC, Coconut Baldi and Coconut Shake; I am trying the latter. I'd say perfect match to the Nasi Mmanggey!
Besides the Nasi Mmanggey, Warung Cikgu also offers Nasi Lemak, Nasi Lemak ikan Tongkol and Nasi BerlaukIkan Tongkol.
Parking is generally quite impossible here, but you can always find one further away from the shop lots nearer to the houses along USJ1/1D.
