Highlights: Merdaka day Parade
Thoughts: In my opinion, a rather "subdued" Merdeka day celebration yet still with many smiling faces on a very hot and sunny friday at Putrajaya!
This is the 1st time after many years that the celebration/parade is coming back to be head at Putrajaya (last here was 2005). An estimated of 300,000 people will be attending the 61th independence day celebration. Arriving here at 6:30am, already jammed packed on Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahaman (road paralleled to Persiaran Perdana which was closed for the parades). 
Even before day break, the area near the podium where the VIP sits were already taken, managed to get a spot at the starting point of the parade to try my luck on some good shooting. 
Luckily no rain was coming, at prompty around 8am++, the National anthem signals the start of the parade. This is theme song was "Sayangi Malaysiaku" (爱马来西亚 Love my Malaysia)"! with many Malaysians joining in the celebration riding high on the spirit of "Malaysia Baharu"(新马来西亚 New Malaysia). The over 3km+ parade on Persiaran Perdana intereseingly saw the involvement of mostly the military personnel (police, air force & the arm forces) with horses, police dogs, army, police, various military assets. Certainly less "coloful" compared to previous years at Dataran Merdeka!

Thoughts: An interesting find of the non-halal kopitiam like shop lot at One City (at the Place building sections shop lots). "One Kopitime" is openend by a chinese and its mostly non-Halal stalls where I can see Pan Mee and Pork noodles. Night time at the kopitiam offers 小炒. 
The Char Kuey Teow stall openend just 5 days, by a lady from penang 北海 Butterworth (Mrs Leong). When asked, she is still deciding on a name and contemlating on calling it "阿姨"槟城炒粿條! Mrs Leong said all her ingredients come from butterworth. She offers the Penang CKT as well as Duck egg CKT. Her Penang Char Kuey Teow was indeed good! 
Will be back in a few months time to check-out what name she have decided for her stall!

Thoughts: I believe the Starbucks at One City was openend in some where in 2014 (One City was officially openened in December 2013). There seemed to be 3 building sections: the Garden shoppe, Sky park, and the Place. Starbucks is located at the Ground floor entrance to "the Place"! It was one of the early tenants in that building section. 
There are 5 Starbucks in USJ: Taiapn, Main Place, Damen, USJ 16 Caltex, and One City. One City Starbucks should be the outlet with the largest floor space (or maybe comparable to Taipan!)
my Cuppa with Cocoa + Cupuccino was an interesting one!

Food Thoughts: Last visit here was on 28.04.2018 where I had the 招牌猪排 Brew House Signature Pork Steak  & 拿铁咖啡 Cafe Latte (nice 👍👍😋😋); so far, I liked the porky meal. And for dinner tonight, I ordered the smoked Duck meat pizza (think crust) and Bacon wrapped with Kronenbaugh to wash them in. Nice, although everything seemed on the salty side. Like Uncle Don, The Brew House is also always packed after dark and customers are always seen waiting for their tables. Neverthelesss, so far I have been getting tables on the verandah. 
Interestingly, both Uncle Don and the Brew House originally have their outlet in PJ SS2 area. Uncle Don made its debut first in Taipan, shortly after that (Perhaps seeing the success), the Brew House came to Taipan (at the vacated True fitness shop lot). Both Uncle Don and the Brew House, chilled-out designs and rustic chic decorations appealing to both the younger and older crowds. Not sure, but I think the only 2 spots for Full Bar and Happy Hours in USJ Taipan!
