Thoughts: This should be the 21st visit to USJ9's "媽寶素食館 Restaurant Mable Vege" since the 1st visit on January 6, 2018.

It is a 2 dish vegetarian dinner with white rice: the rm$9.90 "菜脯蛋 Dried Radish Egg rm$9.90" was too simple for the price but the rm$17.90 "咖喱余 Claypot Curry Vege Fish" was quite good. There are at least 2 curry broth dishes; this one with "素魚 mock fish" and another one with just vegetables. "咖喱余 Claypot Curry Vege Fish" goes super well with white rice, especially the yellow curry broth; the claypot of yellow curry broth comes with few pcs of "素魚 mock fish", 長角豆 long beans, 捲心菜 cabbage, 土豆 potato, 茄子 brinjal, 羊角豆 okra, and 豆腐卜 tofu pok.

Chinese style 素魚 vegetarian fish is basically soy based that is made from blending 豆腐 firm tofu or 豆腐皮 tofu skin (yuba) and 香菇 mushrooms (to add flavor and texture), then wrapped into a big roll with 海苔 seaweed (to give the vegan fish the seafood taste) as the inner layer, and its outer layer with 米紙 rice paper (which mimics the fish skin of a fried fish). The assembled rolls of vegan fish are first fried in shallow oil until the outer layers of seaweed+rice paper becomes a little crispy. AND the rolls are then cut into smaller section, and then dust the tofu+mushroom filling areas with light cornstarch and pan fried that side until golden brown! Preparing your town 素魚 vegetarian fish will take time and patience; but factory mass produced frozen vegan fish can be easily found in vegetarian shops (in the frozen section) as well as easily available in on-line shops. Some of the best recipes of Chinese vegan fish are "糖醋素鱼 Sweet and Sour vegan Fish", "亞叁 Assam/咖喱 Curry 素食鱼 vegan fish", "炸素魚條/魚片 Fried vegan fish sticks/fillet", and many more.
