Food Thoughts: I have been longing for Chee Cheong Fun and Yong Tao Foo for some time. Driving around Alam Megah, found a Chinese Restaurant called 美家园茶餐室 Alam Megah Kopitiam, seems like the only Chinese Restaurant around this area of Shah Alam. The CCF was a little too soggy as I think they steamed it too long and YTF was so so, likely most are purchased from wholesale. A quick check on the web, many factory workers and local residents at Alam Megah liked the Wan Ton Mee, Chicken Rice, and Capati!
A quick scan of this corner shop lot chinese restaurant, I see 怡保河粉 Ipoh Hor Fun, 冠香雲吞麵 Wan Ton Mee, 檳城炒粿條 Penang Char Kuey Teow, Fish paste noodle 魚滑, 蝦麵 Har Mee, Porky Rice 燒臘飯, Thai dish 泰國餐, Nasi Lemak 馬來椰漿飯, Oan Mee 板麵, Hokkien Mee 福建麵, 豬肉粉 Pork Noodle, 瓦煲老鼠粉 Claypot Loh Si Fun, a quick count of at least a dozen hawker stalls. This place is like a "mini Malaysian" all-in-one-shop hawker food shop lot. At night is the 大炒 "Dai Chao" where many claimed that the Guiness Stout Pork is excellent.
Coming in here with Waze will likely bring you to smaller roads making lots of turns before reaching the kopitiam. But Alam Megah, with factories as well as residentials is linked with one huge trunk road with different names at different parts of the Taman, when you drive along Persiaran Kuala Langat and reaching Sumitomo Electric Sintered Component Factory, the 美家园茶餐室 Alam Megah Kopitiam is just opposite the factory next to Petronas Petrol Station. Parking was not difficult in the morning.
