Food Thoughts: Appam is a tasty crunchy lacy soft hopper (like a round shaped frisby/flying saucer but with a hum in the middle) crispy on the outer layer but soft in the middle. Its mainly coconut with sugar, very much a southern 南印度的喀拉拉邦 indian Kerala breakfast meal. There are the salty version which likey goes with dal/curry/meat or vegtables but I had the sweet version today where the dipping sauce is sweet coconut. It is freshly made at one of the food sections where customer choose their breakfast.
For roti canai, some restaurants makes it crispy brown outside, but the inside layers are doughy. However, Chetties seems to make it entirely a doughy roti canai which is slighlt more chewy version! I did like the Appam more than the Roti Canai here at Chetties. Besides these, the restaurant also offers roti telur, roti sardin, tosai, fried mee, fried noodle, and other bite size items like vada and idli.
