Located inside 成都 Chengdu's 東門市井店 Dongmen Market, 菱窠茶舍 Ling Ke Tea House is very likely a true portrayal of the slow life of Chengdu people that is a cup of tea, a cigarette, and a newspaper for the entire day. 菱窠 Lingke is the name of the 故居 former residence of the 文豪 literary giant 李劼人 Li Jieren.
The teahouse has its own aura, that is permeated as soon as you enter the teahouse, the 古色古香的裝潢風格 antique decoration style comes into view, the 雕花的門窗 carved doors and windows, the 古樸的桌椅 simple tables and chairs, every detail shows the 傳統文化的韻味 charm of traditional culture. The air is filled with the elegant fragrance of tea, like a silent invitation. Not sure the price at this Tea house is typical, but prices are ranging from Y$18 to Y$58, and 自助式泡茶 self service with the male waiters will constantly refill with new hot water flasks to every table. The 茶點 snacks are also very 隨性 casual, with 瓜子 melon seeds and 果乾 dried fruits. Settings are very down-to-earth with the kettle (hot water flask) made of bamboo. AND in this tea house, customers can also have 掏耳朵服務 ear cleaning service done while enjoying their Chinese tea.
The 東門市井店 Dongmen market presents itself with a strong market atmosphere with beautiful landscape and 傳統中國房屋 traditional Chinese houses. Although it has entered winter and it is today is a little cloudy, it does not affect the 成都人的慢活 slow life of Chengdu people witnessed in this Tea House. 成都茶文化 Chengdu's tea culture was recorded to be rooted in the 秦漢 Qin-Han dynasty and 興於唐明 flourishing during the Tang and Ming dynasties, reached its 清代達到鼎盛 peak in the Qing Dynasty, evolving into the distinctive 四川茶館文化 Sichuan tea house culture, where tea drinking is a 成都社會文化的基石 social and cultural cornerstone.
