Thoughts: Subang jaya's "SS 15" is well known with Bubble tea shops including  the Taiwanese chains like Chawanjia (茶丸家 now moved to SS15/8) and Gong Cha (貢茶 now at SS15/7) and a newer, promising local option that got its start in SS15 is Pin Tea (品茶 now still at SS15/4). AND along SS15/4 alone, there used to be quite a few of these Taiwanese Bubble tea shops! 
BUT SS15/4 also house a variety of eateries: From Local to Thai, Korean, China, Japanese, and Bristish, and Western restaurants. Today's dinner is at one of several Japanese restaurant along the same road. "とく屋 Tokuya", is a 居酒屋風格 Izakaya style Japanese dining with Yakitori, Sashimi, and Beer; as well as varieties of Japanese cuisines. The Izakaya is at the 2nd floor, and above a noodle house called "五谷魚粉 Five Grains Noodles".
SS15's "とく屋 Tokuya" isn't too big space at the 2nd floor (with maybe 8-9 tables) and decoration is very 居酒屋風格 Izakaya style, waiters and waitresses here are certainly very friendly and attentive. Before ordering, they will also serve a free bowl of "高麗菜 Cabbage" as appetizer! 
Dinner starts with rm$20 "とり南蛮(南蠻雞) Tori Nanban", which comes with 6 pieces of "Fried Chicken" which are topped with 白塔塔醬 White Tartar Sauce (some kind of Egg Mayo):

First thing first, in Klang Valley Japanese restaurants, we are probably more familiar with the Japanese dish of "唐揚げ Karaage" (which is translated to 日式無骨炸雞 Japanese style of boneless Fried Chicken). And usually Karaage is served as it is (without toppings or sauce, I think) either as a side dish or Ala-Carte! The とり南蛮 Chicken/Tori Nanban should be thought of as a variation of the Karaage, and it is the same boneless fried chicken but Nanban style will have  additional topping to the fried chicken and usually with some kind of 白塔塔醬 white tartar sauce recipe. Next, some history: the origin of the word “Nanban” (南蛮) can be translated literally to as “南蠻 (Naan Maan in Chinese sound) or Southern Barbarian” in the Kanji/Chinese characters; but interestingly, it became a term used in Japan to denote something foreign and highly desirable. Wikipedia describes "南蠻 Nanban" was a term commonly applied to the 葡萄牙商人 Portuguese traders who began arriving in Japan in the mid-fifteenth century. The moniker referred to the trade route the Portuguese took traveling 澳門向北前往長崎的貿易路線 north from Macao to Nagasaki. The Karrage Variation of "Tori Nanban" is known to have originated in 延岡市 Nobeoka City (日本南部 Southern part of Japan, in 宮崎縣 Miyazaki Prefecture). It is said that it was first prepared as a bribe dish at a Western-style restaurant in Nobeoka City in the 1950s.
Next dish is another rm$20 "ビーフサラダ (牛肉沙拉) Beef Tataki Salad" which comes with I think 10 slices of "Medium cooked" Beef slices:

塔塔基 Tataki is a cooking technique typically used in Japanese meat cuisine for 肉或魚甚至豆腐燒烤 meat or fish or even tofu grilling. According to legend, it was invented in the 17th or 19th century by 一位武士 a samurai from 土佐市 Tosa, in the 高知縣 prefecture of Kochi, who picked up the European technique of grilling meat from the 居住在長崎的外國人 foreigners resident in Nagasaki after watching the Europeans used a kind of mash wire grid to cook meats at high temperatures. Today, according to some 日本烹飪書籍 Japanese cook books, the Tataki is a Japanese preparation method whereby 紅肉 red meat,  魚肉 fish or even 豆腐 tofu is seasoned, then 高溫下煎炸 seared at a scorching temperature and 然後迅速冷卻 rapidly cooled down 肉的中間不太熟 to leave the center as rare or untouched as possible ; and for this reason, one should use 最優質的肉或魚 the best quality meat or fish you can afford.
The final dinner dish today is a rm$12 "小エビ から揚げ (日本鹽味油炸小蝦 Koebi Karaage) Deep Fried Small Shrimps". The dish probably best to go with Beer or Sakes, as they are small Salted crunchy fried shrimps. These light and crispy shrimp are fairly low in calories, even though they are fried (maybe 150 Calories for 1 bowl); but high in sodium (since they are salted)! 
So, that Japanese term of "唐揚げ Karaage" can be used for any meats which are deep fried; including maybe beef, chicken, duck, pork, tofu, seafood and in this case shrimps!
