Thoughts: Ayam Penyet is an Indonesian dish, but more precisely its East Javanese origin. Although it seems to be just like another fried chicken, but the cooking method is to smash with the pestle against mortar to make it softer! It was served with a chicken soup, black sauce, and sambal. Garnished on the side with cucumber, tomato slices, tempe and fried tofu. I know there is one Surabaya Ayam Penyet in USJ9 that I have yet to try (it is said that the most famous Ayam Penyet is the Surabaya variant!), so that one at USJ9 is in my to-eat list now! I'd say the sambal and black sauce was perfect for the ayam penyet.
Sebok Cafe is located in UOA Business Park (opposite Subang Jaya KTM/LRT station with a Link Bridge) on the other side of Federal Highway. It is quite an establishment of 9 tower blocks for offices and retail purpose. A quick tour of the ground floor areas seems many space are still vacant.
Sebok Cafe is one of the few eateries here offering Western recipe such as burger, pizza, and spaghetti, and Asian recipe of Nasi Lemak, Ayam Penyet and Rice Bowls with Chicken or Fish. Beverages offered are Coffee, Tea, Coolers, and Milkshakes. Private Parking here within the premises is rm$2/hour, there is a pedestrian link bridge from the business park across federal highway to the Subang LRT/KTM station.
