Thoughts: Many have said that this is one of the "Famous Dim Sum" in Penang! I believe the original Tai Tong Restaurant was taken over by a new managemeng group called 美食之家 Maxim Dim Sum Group which started its first Dim Sum restaurant in year 2005. A few years ago, it has taken over the 100+ year old Tai Tong Restaurant as well. Maxim Group now have 5 restaurants in the island of Penang.
Rather disappointed with the "Har Cheong" which was pre-made and over-steamed, the "Har Mai" was equally bad as it immediately breaks apart when the chopstick clinch on it. My primary visit here is for their 帝王包 Di Wang Bao (Dia Bao and Loh Mai Kai fusion), it was just so so!
Really not sure how it gets to be a famous Dim Sum destination in Penang! or maybe it was just me.
