Food Thoughts: Cafe UAK is the creation of "Ustaz Abdullah Khairi"; from the Cafe which is upstairs (stacked containers), you can overlook federal highway's Batu 3 Toll. However, access to the Cafe is only via Persiaran Kerjaya either from Batu 3 Industrial Park (Shah Alam way, 1st bridge after the Toll) or from Subang Jaya (before Batu 3 Toll). The facilities including the Cafe and other Sports clubs are entirely constructed via Containers. Cafe UAK is accessed via a staircase to an upper level of the container structure where there are indoor seating as well as outdoor seating areas. Part of the outdoor seating area can overlook the federal highway (Batu 3 toll) as well as the Go-Kart Track.
Menu here includes both local Malay food as well as "mostly" Western food including steak and fish. My choice for lunch today was the UAK Kampong Fried Rice which comes with the Malay Fried Rice as well as fried Ikan Kembung (Mackerel) with a Fried Egg as well. It is not great but not bad either. Matcha Tea (Green Tea) was a little bit of a downer.
The Western meals choices seems very nice, looking at what was ordered from neighbouring tables. The menu offers Fish, Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Pizza, Pasta, Noodles, Burger, Salad, and Soup. The menu items are not extensive, just a few items for each section. The steak and pasta probably is one of their signature as many customer seems to be ordering them. Cafe UAK opens for lunch and dinner, although it is the creation of a "ulamak", it does seem to be a hip place to dine.
The soup of the day (today was vegetarian mushroom soup), is "free" but you are weldome to place your choice of donation in a donation box next to the self-service soup section.
