鴨血糕 Duck blood pudding is made from 鴨血 duck blood, 水 water, 鹽 salt, and other ingredients coagulated into a 豆腐狀的方塊 tofu-like cube. 鴨血糕 Duck blood pudding is a delicacy that originated in 中國南京 Nanjing, China. It is a component of 鴨血粉絲湯 duck blood and vermicelli soup, a traditional dish in the city. According to legend, 南京有一位窮人 a poor man in Nanjing accidentally dropped vermicelli into a bowl of duck blood and discovered the delicious soup. A "similar" dish called the "Tiết canh" also found in Northern Vietnamese cuisine, which is raw blood pudding made with 豬血 pig and 鴨血 duck blood! AND, many will find the interesting fact that blood pudding is also the food of the people in British Isles, which is often found as part of the British big breakfast. It is called "黑血布丁 Black Pudding" and is a type of 豬血製成的香腸 sausage made with pig's blood, typically served fried or grilled alongside other breakfast items like bacon, eggs, and sausages in a 全套英式早餐 full English breakfast.
