Thoughts: Located at Lot 10's Level 4, J’s Gate Dining showcase 17 of Japan’s best specialty restaurants to provide authentic Japanese cuisine. It's centered on the theme of “superior quality ingredients, Japanese hospitality, and a lively atmosphere.” Today on 1st visit to J's Gate Dining, I am sampling a Japanese meal at "うまい鮨勘 Umai Sushikan"; the restaurant is small with seats in front of the kitchen as well as comfortable private seating area (all very Japanese). “Umai Sushikan” is thoroughly committed to ingredients, because “Sushi (鮨)” means “Fish is delicious.” in Japanese Character. This is definitely exemplified by the 2pcs of Nigiri Sushi (at rm$10), delivered with fresh raw fish fully covering the rice (authentically Japanese style); nice! According to the waiter, the new item in the menu "Bara Chirashi Don (mixed seafood rice bowl)" which comes Chawanmushi and Miso Soup as well as free flow Japanese Tea also beautifully presented and very tasty.
“Umai Sushikan was founded by a Mr. Takamasa Ueno in 1997, in Miyagi prefecture, Japan. “Umai Sushikan”, the brand which Ueno established, always selects the finest seafoods from Sendai market that supplies fresh seafoods from the local Sanriku, and Toyosu market that is called “Kitchen of Japan”. Overwhelmingly affordable price for high-quality and fresh seafoods that are cherry-picked by Ueno visiting the market by himself, and the enthusiasm for Sushi of chefs at each store have attracted a number of customers. Ueno currently direct 30 stores around the world from the head store in Sendai (Miyagi), Ginza (Tokyo), Akasaka (Tokyo) to overseas stores in Hong Kong (1 store) and 2 Stores in Malaysia. In their new menu, Umai Sushikan also offers Japanese Omakase!
Since I am in PJ Phileo Damansara today, the Phileo MRT only takes about maybe 10-15 minutes (depending on Train waiting time) to arrive in front of Lot 10 and in fact the MRT Exit is directly in front of the entrance to Lot 10 Hutong.
