Thoughts: For us from South East Asia (except Singaporeans), dining in Australia is quite expensive as a typical meal is at least AUD$30-$50 (which is RM$90-$150)! But Dollar to Dollar wise, its quite similar. 
In Sydney, it is not just Aussie food but I can find Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Indian, and even some Japanese restaurants in and around the CBD area. Near to Wynyard Station is this Japanese eatery called "Condor", food is not bad. But tonight, I am eating outside in the cold (its spring in Sydney) but night time with the wind is still below 10C. Usually, the restaurant will provide mobile "standing" heaters, here blanket is also available. Now I know how it feels to have a hot bowl of Ramen under the cold weather! it was an interesting experince.
