Thoughts: It was almost 90 minutes of queing as I believe they want to regulate the human traffic into the Palace, but it is well worth the long queue!
The Imperial Palace East Gardens (皇居東御苑, Kōkyo Higashi Gyoen) are a part of the inner palace area and are open to the public. Not cold but with a little bit of drizzles throughout the day, lucky both the EM1 and 12-50 were weather sealed! But, I was here around 10am and left at 5pm; so much so much that I wished there were more time. Nevertheless, the Palace can only be seen from a distance and only the Gardens are allowed for visitors. The Fall colors were still so beautiful in the months of December in Tokyo, despite the huge Japanese crowd, everything or everyone in the park seems so orderly, enjoying the views and taking photographs.
Definitely worth the visit if you are in Tokyo!
