Nobels gate 32, 0268 Oslo, Norway
GPS Location: 59°55'37.5"N 10°42'03.2"E
Admission free 👍👍👍😋😋😋
Highlights: Park, Statues
Public Transport: Oslo Tram
Thoughts: It's called "The Frogner Park" or "The Vigeland Park" but in Chinese many refer to it as 人生雕刻公園 (Life Carvings Park). The status here are the works of 古斯塔夫‧維格蘭 Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943), a famous Norwegian Sculptor. The works of the 200+ sculptures were only completed in 1949, 6 years after Gustva Vigelands passing. Gustav was not only known for the Vigeland sculpture installations but also the designer of the Noble Piece Prize Medal.
There are no entrance fees to the park, its a huge park and maybe 2-3 hours can only soak in all the beauties of the park of not just the status, but the lakes, greeneries, and buildings/structures surrounding it.
It maybe a little bit culture shock to be able to see such open-freedom of expressions in the form of sculptures (not normally possibly can be found in many parts of Asia). A most interesting and eye-opening visit during the Winters in Oslo, Norway.
The temperature was below 5C today. To get here, it is best to take a Tram and please ask for prices of a single ticket/daily ticket/or multiday tickets which can be valid either for 1 zone/2 zone or all-zones. For example a 7-day all-zones pass which can be used for trains, bus, and ferries costs 665Kroners (USD$100 or rm$400) for Adults. While a Single ticket for all-zones used only once is 123Kroners (USD$15 or rm$60).
While travelling without a tour 自由行 is a cool way to visit in Europe, getting around in Oslo is not cheap. I got a 7-day pass for all-zones where I use it daily to reach the work place and also geting around within the Oslo city in the evenings.
Rating: 8 / 10 👍👍👍😋😋😋
