"Gala House" started around 12 years ago sometime in October 2013, the hip restaurant cafe sits at the junction of Leith street and Muntri street, a prominent 2 stories colonial shop lot structure in the area especially the night time when it lights up. It is an open street bar with cozy seating areas comfortable for early morning breakfast (as it opens as early as 8am) and perhaps coffee or some booze in the evening or night time when it is cooler. Not much deco or renovations indoors but very interesting setup especially when one venture to the upper level seating area.
Mr Aiden (if remembered correctly), a Taiwanese hospitality industry graduate, originally hailed from the city of Ipoh have decided to take-over the "Gala House" from its previous owner who had decided to call it a day a few years ago. Mr Aiden decided to retain the original hipster deco charm while trying to endure the challanges of the recent mushrooing of Cafes in Georgetown since after the Covid days.
Some netizens did not agree with the prices of the food as well as a portion; my rm$17 "黑胡椒醬雞排 Chicken Chop w/Black pepper Sauce" which comes with:

Was the right portion and taste to my liking at a reasonable price considering the location of service offered. Will definitely be back for an early morning breakfast (available until 3pm for the breakfast menu) as well as maybe coffee and/or cocktail or guiness!
