Last visit in February, the shop offers 3 flavors of vegan ice cream:
火龍果冰淇淋(素食) G-Dragon (Vegan)西瓜冰淇淋 Watermelon (Vegan)大豆香蕉冰淇淋 Soya Banana (Vegan) (I think)
But today's 3rd visit to Ais & Hani" is to sample a new vegan flavor (I think) of an rm$11 "香蕉杏仁冰淇淋 Banana Almond Ice Cream". As usual, todays choice of the home-made Ice cream was expectedly delicious, light, refreshing and not too sweet. "The Ais & Hani" offers at least if not more than 80 choices of Ice Cream flavors and looks like the Ice Cream specialist also introduce new flavors from time to time.
"Ais" refers to the Penang Home-grown ice cream shop, and "Hani" represents the specific group of people (from China) they initially partnered with for seasonal coffee beans grown by the Hani People. This name change signifies their connection to the Hani people and their coffee sourcing practices. "The Ais & Hani", was renamed to honor its partnership with the Hani people, a minority ethnic group in China, for coffee beans.This year is their 11th anniversary of making ice-cream as they started back in 2013 at Pulau Tikus organic shop, then moved to Chulia Street and Campbell Street, three years ago. The name of the company is dedicated to the very first seasonal coffee partners they have worked with - "The Hani people".
