It is directly called 牛肉麵 beef noodles or beef bowls in 蘭州 Lanzhou, Capital city of 甘肅省 Gansu Province. 甘肅 Gansu is where the Eastern routes of the 絲綢之路 Silk Road used to run through, and is seen as one of the 中國伊斯蘭教的發源地 birthplaces of Islam in China and it is therefore one of the most Muslim-friendly cities in the China. Over one million Muslims can be found in 蘭州 Lanzhou.
蘭州拉麵 Lanzhou ramen or 蘭州牛肉麵湯 Lanzhou beef noodle soup is one of the oldest beef noodle soup recipe in China, and it was said to be created by the 迴族 Hui people of 中國西北部 northwest China during the 唐朝 Tang dynasty. The 回族人 Hui people are mostly 穆斯林 Muslims that live primarily in the provinces of 寧夏省 Ningxia, 甘肅省 Gansu, and 青海省 Qingha, and these are are 蒙古南部 South of Mongolia in 中國內陸 inner China to the 中國西北部 North West (I think). This shop for dinner today is called "中國蘭州拉麵館 Lan Zhou Mee Tarik Restaurant", a shop lot on Jalan Sultan in KL China Town (next to Vintage 88 Cafe). The shop is probably owned and operated by native 蘭州穆斯林 Lanzhou muslim people. Not just the signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle, the shop offers around 30 varieties of Noodles dishes (soup, fried, and cold), also a variety of side dishes like 凉拌 cold salad, 餃子 dumplings, and 單點 ala-carte meat dishes of 牛肉 beef, 羊肉 lamb and 雞肉 chicken. There are definitely a lot of Chinese Muslim cuisines can be sampled here especially if you come in a group.
Looks like the restaurant only operate for 4 hours every day from 12 noon to 4pm, and the Muslim friendly restaurant in KL China Town looks packed with our 馬來同胞 Malay compatriots today.
