Thoughts: This is just one crazy bowl of Pork Liver plust Beef noodle, not for the faint-hearted and certainly not for some one in my age. But I have got to try this, it has 3 or is it 4 shops in the same road (福榮街) in Sham Shui Po and said to be a must-try if you happen to be here! It is served with big fat Shanghai noodles, resembling udon or our KL's Hokkien fat noodles. The restaurant is very generous in serving the noodles along with pork liver and beef piled on the bowl at HKD$44 per bowl.
油渣面 (or 猪油渣面) is a type of noodle dish popular in the 1960s. 猪油渣 is really the remaining meat/fatty part of the pork which is boiled and then deep-fried into pork lard. Often served with thick noodles (such as the Shanghai noodles) served with mushrooms, spring onions, perserved vegetables and chili sauce.
My bown is 猪油渣面 with Pork liver and beef, that's a crazy bowl of lunch! Still, well worth the experience.
