Thoughts: Especially like the wild board curry, not too spicy at all. Interestingly and surprisingly a good combination with the steamed chicken. The "New Capitol Chiken rice" restaurant has to be one of the best chicken rice shop in Kuantan. The service is unusually fast, food arrive on the table minutes after ordering!
According to a 新洲报 "Sin Chew" article, the shop was around in Kuantan for 55 years (right around the time I was born!). The founders are 符德文 and 黄万琴, who had the recipe for cooking their signature dish which is "招牌药材鹵鷄" (herbal stewed chicken) and special traditional method of preparing the chicken rice. Since the passing of the founders, the business is now in the hands of thier 2nd generations 符策良 & 黄智良 who are now respectively in their 50s and 60s! The business originally only sells steamed chicken but later expanded into also selling wild bore curry, curry chicken, vegetables and bean sprouts to increase varieties for their customers.
The decoration of the restaurant has maintain the old style white tiles and marble tables, reminescent of styles of chinese kopitiam in the 70s as I remember. The restaurant takes up 3 shop lots and a popular destination for locals as well as tourist.
