BUT "車仔麵 Cart noodles" originated in Hong Kong back in the 1950s (likely after World War II). Since Hong Kong's economy was still under development at that time, the income of Hong Kong residents are not high; and so, some ingenious Hong Kongers invented a variety of the 流動攤販 mobile vendors bring convenience and affordable food to the people in Hong Kong at that time. Among them, the street vendors appeared to push wooden carts, commonly known as 俗稱車仔麵 Cart noodles where they typically sell cooked food such as 咖喱魚蛋 curry fish balls, 蘿蔔 radishes, 滷味 lo mei and 及粉麵等熟食 noodles, Customers were free to choose noodles, soups and toppings, so Chezai noodles were very popular at the time. But nowadays, 車仔麵 Chezai Noodles has evolved into a specialty store, and has even become one of the dishes in typical "香港茶餐廳 Hong Kong Cha Chan Teng".There is a "新記香辣車仔麵 Sun Kee HK Noodle" at Hong Kong's 銅鑼灣 Causeway Bay's 時代廣場 Time Square; which may has at least 35+ years history (maybe since the late 1908s), its popularity not just for the Hong Kong office workers at Causeway Bay but also for tourist; probably due to its location (銅鑼灣站 F2出口約3分鐘). Not sure, but maybe this one in SS15 has something to do with the 銅鑼灣新記車仔麵 Causeway Bay Sun Kee Cart Noodle shop!

Thoughts: It is said that in the past, hawkers in Hong Kong used "推車仔 pulled carts" to the streets to set up stalls, and customers could choose their own noodles, soup bases and ingredients, so it was called "車仔麵 Cart noodles". Since there are more than 40 kinds of ingredients in "新記正宗車仔麵 Sun Kee Chayzai Noodles", it may be a little confusion for the first timers to choose the right bowls. The signature here are 白蘿蔔 White Carrot, 蠔油冬菇 Mushroom Oyster Sauce, 鹵水雞中翼 Braised Chicken Wing, 牛筋腩 Beef Tender Brisket, 鹵豬大腸 Large Braised Pig Intestine, 辣豬紅 Spicy Pig Blood, 辣豬皮 Spicy Pork Skin, and 新記咖哩魚蛋 Sun Kee Curry Fish Ball! The menu offers a 二款一麵2 Toppings or 三款一麵 3 Toppings plus Noodle at rm$12.90 and rm$14.90 respectively. 8 Noodle choices are available with signature 皇帝麵 Huang Di Noodle, 香港炸麵線 HK Fried Mee Sua, and 魚翅米 Shark Fin Noodle.
On the beverage side, both the 香港絲襪奶茶 Hong Kong XiMut Milk Tea and 香港冰鎮奶茶 Hong Kong Bing Zhan Milk Tea are worth sampling.
