11.12.2016 Lunch
@ Sakae Sushi at Subang Parade
Subang Parade, 5, Jalan SS 16/1, Subang Jaya
栄定食 Sakae Teishoku $26.99
Goma Kamo Gunkan (Duck) $2.99
Yakitori $6.99
Review: Brunch at Subang Parade and called the Sakae Teishoku (Teishoku 定食 is a type of Japanese set meal. Teishoku dining is based on the “one soup plus one side” traditional meals offered at Zen temples, which included a main, soup, rice, and pickles. The concept eventually spread throughout Japan and transformed into the convenient meal sets found at restaurants and cafeterias today). The common word now is Bento 弁当.
Sakae Teishoku set is: Grilled Scallop, Japanese Curry, Pickled on rice, Miso Soup, Breaded Chicken Cutler, and Chawan Mushi. Oh!
But I wonder why Sakae's branding is a Frog. Googling it, and here is why "The eyes of the frog meant to provide direction to Sakae with foresight, the smile represented good service with a smile, and the body and legs resembled a gold ingot which signifies prosperity. Together, all parts of the frog represented a united team of Sakae management and staff, working as one to bring the company forward". (Mr. Douglas Foo, CEO of Sakae Holdings Ltd)
That was really an interesting way of using a Frog as a Companny Brand Logo!
