The brand originated in Melaka and is owned and operated by a small team of passionate young entrepreneurs. "Dan," is literally the sound of "雞蛋" or egg in Chinese Mandarin; and in a way is fitting, since their signature "Toast" offering features soft and fluffy bread. 

Besides the Cafe's signature Toast series, interesting in this Korean Inspired Cafe is their rm$23.90 "印尼手撕炸雞飯 Ayam Gepuk Rice Meal". Ayam Gepuk originates from 印尼日惹 Yogyakarta, Indonesia. This dish is different from ayam penyet or ayam geprek because the 雞肉先用香料煮熟 chicken is boiled with spices before being 再搗碎 pounded (gepuk) and 配上辛辣的洋蔥醬汁食用 served with a spicy onion sauce. Dan by TheAfterTaste's "印尼手撕炸雞飯 Ayam Gepuk Rice Meal" comes with:
