Thoughts: There is a lot to experience in this one Cafe but it is totally full-house and so crowded in the evenings; I personally think best to enjoy the Cafe is during non peak hours like on a weekday may in the morning or at 3pm!
There are 2 entrance (either from Beach Street or Victoria Street), it takes a little bit of walking from one end to the other end of the Cafe with different themes in different parts of the building, quite artsy. From the Beach Street entrance is a galore of Cakes where the Cafe is famous for their Signature Cake "S" . The sampled "盐渍焦糖芝士蛋糕 Salted Caramel Cheese Cake" was a likable one, although perhaps slight on the sweet side for my age!
"The Canteen at Chinahouse" not only offers Cakes and Coffee but variety of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner recipes serving from 9am till mid-night! A section of the Cafe also offers alcohol and here is one of the rare places in Penang that Craft Beer is available albeit a little expensive!
I'd be sure to find a better time to explore this Cafe during non peak hours next time in Penang!
