Malaysia-listed Hextar Industries Berhad, through its subsidiary, Global Aroma Sdn Bhd (GASB) has signed an agreement with 瑞幸咖啡控股新加坡私人股份有限公司 Luckin Coffee Holding Singapore Pte Ltd, allowing the brand to enter the 馬來西亞咖啡市場 Malaysian coffee market. The Chinese Coffee Chain open its first 2 outlets in 雙威金字塔 Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and another one in 生態世界大廈 Menara EcoWorld 武吉免登市中心 Bukit Bintang City Centre respectively. 瑞幸咖啡 Luckin Coffee outlets would also be opening soon in The Sphere Bangsar South, Pavilion Damansara Heights and Aeon Maluri and have plans to open a new outlet every week, initial plans in Klang Valley. The Sunway Pyramid Luckin Coffee opened a week before 2025 CNY on January 23rd (last month), at the ground floor next to 霸王茶姬 Chagee.
The first cup of Luckin Coffee will be rm$2.99 if ordered via the "瑞幸咖啡應用程式 The Luckin Coffee app", The App was launched alongside its first two outlets, the App can trace customers’ buying behaviours and preferences to provide customers with personalised offers! The menu price of a standard cup of Luckin Americano is rm$9 (or is it rm$7.20), while ZUS Coffee is offering at rm$6.90, GIGI Coffee is rm$8, Starbucks is rm$10.50, McCafe maybe around rm$7, I think Family Mart and 7-Evelen is less than rm$3 per small cup of Black Coffee.
瑞幸咖啡 Luckin Coffee, was founded in 北京 Beijing in 2017 (current headquarter in 廈門 Xiamen). By October 2018, the company had opened 1300 stores, and within a short period, Luckin Coffee quickly expanded and outnumbered the number of 星巴克 Starbucks and 咖世家 Costa Coffee stores in China by 2019. In 2019, the Chinese Coffee Chain also gained exposure in the 美國股市 US stock market, applying to the 納斯達克 Nasdaq BUT just one year later in June 2020 was delisted from 納斯達克 Nasdaq due to alleged fabrication of its revenue, expenses, and net loss to deceive investors and regulators! And in December 2020, Luckin Coffee Agreed to Pay $180 Million Penalty to Settle Accounting Fraud Charges. However, according to 華爾街日報 The Wall Street Journal, 瑞幸咖啡 Luckin Coffee emerged from bankruptcy in March 2022 and has replaced most of its top management and ousted its former chairman, chief executive and other employees who carried out the earlier fraud. As of the beginning of 2024, China's 瑞幸咖啡 Luckin Coffee China’s looked to be back from brink and beating every other Coffee Chains in China and grow to the size of over 18,000 coffee shops in operation in China beating second place Starbucks with around 7500 coffee outlets in China. The company opened its first overseas locations in 新加坡 Singapore on 31 March 2023 and beginning of this year into the Malaysia Coffee scene.
