27.01.2017 Dinner
@ 石头蒸汽火锅餐厅 Stone Steam Pot Restaurant
69&71, Jalan Puteri 2/3, Bandar Puteri, 47100 Puchong, Selangor
火锅餐 Steamboat for 6 person $150
Thoughts: It's CNY eve, last year we had steamboat here too. I remember last year we had the "steam version" and this year we called the "soup version". Unfortunately, only 3 choice of soup which are clear, tomyam, and herbal. Opted for the clear soup, the pot is really big and we did not even refill any soup for the entire meal.
Probably one of those few restaurants that are open at Chinese New Year eve in Puchong and so it was packed at 6pm.
All in all, I prefer the Steam version where all the food is steam above the pot while the porridge is being cooked in the pot below and at the end of the meal is the porridge itself.

24.01.2017 Breakfast
@ Restoran Sri Nirvana Maju USJ 9
1, Jalan USJ 9/5M, Subang Business Centre, 47620 Subang Jaya
印度炒面 Mee Goreng $6 👍😋
牛奶拉茶 Susu Lembu Teh Tarik $3.40 👍😋
Thoughts: If you wish to have roti canai, tosai, roti telur etc, you have to be here before 10am (I think), else the restaurant already getting ready for their banana leaf servings. But you still can order "goreng goreng".
I have always liked their susu lembu teh tarik, for me its always nicer than the condensed milk. Oh! I still remember the Indian milk man in his motorbike in the good old days. I would love to think that they are still selling cow milk like that in some residential areas where there is a demand for it.
Sri Nirwana always serves their dishes, be it mee goreng, roti canai, or of course banana leaf rice on a banana leaf. Most people would eat with their hands except for mee goreng. It's always easier to have a quick meal here despite the difficult parking but the opposite residential houses provide some opportunity for some parking if you are in for a quick meal here.

23.01.2016 Lunch
@ 旺来 Ong Lai Damen USJ
Lower Ground Floor, Damen USJ 1, 47600 Subang Jaya
双蛋猪肉蒸饭 Steamed minced pork & century, salted egg with rice $9.88
奶茶 Milk Tea $3.88
Thoughts: Ong Lai has branches in Sunway Pyramid, Bukit Jalil and now at Damen. It is advertised as a fast casual restaurant specializing in porky local cuisine ranging from Malacca Pork Satay to Pork Curry, Pork Chop Bun to Pork Intestine Porridge, Pork Ribs Prawn Mee to Braised Pork Rice, well over 80 choices in the menu.
I ordered the steamed rice with minced pork, century egg and salted egg. A nice home cooked feel to the porky meal (I think). I ordered a cup of their Ong Lai Tea which is served in a unique cup, i'd say not bad!
In for a porky cuisine inside a cozy mall setting, 旺来 Ong Lai is definitely a good choice for a quicky porky meal anytime of the day.

叉烧云吞面 Roasted Pork Wan Ton Mee $6.20 👍👍😋😋 7/10
Total bill: rm$6.50
Budget: MYR$10+
Payment method: Cash
Cuisine: Wan Ton Mee
Highlights: opens early, non-Halal, non air-conditioning, Porky, Chinese hawker stalls
Parking: Private parking (free)
Thoughts: I was not sure why the R0.20 of the $6.20, I would think maybe the GST, It's a hawker stall and they don't issue Tax Invoice to customers, so the $0.20 no idea what's it about! 江记 Kong Kee is still at the same location (ie: same shop) but the new shop lot has been renovated and taken over by another "rich fellow" who runs many such shops with multiple hawkers stalls. 江记 Kong Kee boss told me is "新海景" as they have not put up the shop name yet but he said maybe "新海景" boss maybe call it a different name for this shop at UJS 6.
Well, 江记 Kong Kee's Won Ton Mee is typically nice for me, although I prefer their 排骨 Won ton Mee which I tried last month. Still, the noodle is the best part of the meal.

@ G10 阿莲云吞面 ICC Pudu KL (Next to Pudu Plaza KL)Jalan Kijang, Pudu, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.
叉烧水饺云吞面 Chasiew Dumpling WonTonMee $8.40
Thoughts: Arrived at KL ICC Pudu at 7am, as I predicted, no more parking spaces and I ended up leaving the indoor parking to make-do on the road side.
Ordered my favorite Dumpling plus Roasted Pork on dry Wan Ton Mee from "Lin Jie Wan Ton Mee". I have seriously noticed the reduced portions served for the same prices recently. The Dumpling used to be much bigger, and Chasiew now in thinner slices. I guess the shrinking of the ringgit and rising cost of "everything" must be taking a toll on everyone.

@ 旺角茶餐厅 Wong Kok Char Chan Teng
Pavilion Elite KL (same floor as Food Republic)
豆腐火腩饭 Beancurd & Roasted pork rice $18.60
香港丝袜奶茶 Hong Kong Milk Tea $4.50
Thoughts: 火腩 is really roasted pork that is further cooked with something else like using roasted pork for frying or re-cooked with other ingredients. In this case, the 豆腐火腩饭 is stir fried roasted pork with tofu, green spring onion, lots of onions.
I think maybe a typical item in the menu of many Hong Kong Restaurants, similar to the very typical "Hong Kong" style 芝士焗飯 Cheese Baked Rice in many Hong Kong Restaurants.
But too salty for me. However, the Milk Tea was the saver, very Hong Kong XiMut Milke Tea 丝袜奶茶!

猪肉粉 Pork Noodle rm$8 👍😋
Budget: MYR$10/person (including drinks)
Cuisine: Malaysian Chinese
Highlights: Chinese and Local varieties kopitiam, opens early at 6am
Parking: DBKL
Thoughts: KL Imbi's Win Heng Seng offers 2 pork noodle variants; one is the famous Pork Ball Noodle (or 三井庄猪肉粉) and the other is Soup Pork Noodle (猪肉粉) where the later did not get too much attention in the Web. For breakfast today, I am trying the less famous Soup Pork Noodle (generally, other kopitiams are currently offering Pork Noodles at around $6-$6.50 but here its rm$8 here likely due to too much hype in the web about this kopitiam). Order the Soup Pork Noodle with Beehoon & Hor Fun today, would have preferred Loh Si Fun; maybe next time.

18.01.2017 Lunch
@ Bettys' The Wagon at Wisma Cosway
Ground floor at Wisma Cosway, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur
鱼粥 Fish Paste porridge $8.50
Thoughts: I guess some restaurant just have to put some variety in the menu just to capture a wide audience/customers. Then again, if they don't deliver it well, what is the point of offering so many varieties. That's why some specialty shops only sell a few things they are good at, and maybe it is better that way.
I asked for no salt and no sesame oil, and every other add-on like ginger and spring onions to be separated. Yes, it was done but the porridge was so salty that I just eat the fish paste and maybe only 1/4 of the bowl of porridge.
I rest my case on today's meal.

@ Brunch Kitchen at Wisma Cosway
3rd floor at Wisma Cosway, Jalan Raja Chulan, Kuala Lumpur
肉碎香料米粉 Minced Pork MeeHun $3.90
Thoughts: The 6 days breakfast at Brunch Kitchen for $3.90 each menu are as below:
Monday 客家面 Hakka Mee
Tuesday 自制水饺河粉汤 Dumpling Keow Teow Soup
Wednesday 肉碎香料米粉 Minced Pork MeeHun (TODAY)
Thursday 叉烧云吞面 BBQ Pork WanTan Mee (15.12.2016)
Friday 沙捞越干捞面 Sarawak GanPan Mee
Saturday 滑蛋河 Wat Dan Ho
Late arriving at KL at around 9:30am, so hungry with a heavy head, I decided to grab a quick bite at Brunch Kitchen. The Minced Pork MeeHun was just to swallow and fuel the body for a few hours. Anyway, not much appetite at all. I swallowed the whole thing like in less than 2 minutes!
It will be a tough day ahead.
